The original 1990 front cover included a drawing by Linda Milne, which shows the cabins of Jim Peters (left) and Charley Jones.
Mr. Milne created a fictional "Turtle Lake" roughly in the area of Grayling, Michigan, to be the setting where Peters hatched his plans to stop and punish a corrupt corporation before they could enact their evil plans.
Robert Milne, Author
Robert Milne is a retired solo concert pianist. His colorful, 60-year career began with (in his words) "playing in Detroit area saloons, beer halls, dumps and dives in the 1960s and early 70s." He later progressed to seafood houses and "higher class joints." In 1990 he was hired by a concert hall, which launched a 30-year career of traveling the world and performing hundreds of concerts every year.
When writing Turtle Lake it was necessary to include a wild barroom scene. Mr. Milne didn't have to look far for bizarre and unsavory incidents. All he had to do was reach back into his "dumps & dives era," and the episode wrote itself.
