Bob arrived in Sewanee a few years later for performances, master classes, and interviews. This continued annually for the next eight years. In 2023, Robert Milne was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Lifetime Achievement in the field of music.

Upon learning of Dr. Kerstin Bettermann's studies on Bob, Dr. McCardell invited her to present her braiin study seminar on Mr. Milne to the University.
A packed house arrived.
In the questions following the presentation, Dr. McCardell mentioned he'd "heard I'd written a song about Tennessee. Can we hear it?"
I replied I'd composed one in my head, but had never performed it.
He repeated, "Can we hear it?"

Bob presents a master class to students
Bob plays World Premier of "Please Don't Forget Me, Tennessee" with Nashville band Boy Named Banjo, Brian Nova (on bass), and Nashville musician Darryl Worley to a sold-out Guerry Auditorium.
Bob presented subsequent solo concerts and master classes over all the following years.
